Layne Pearson
MRWC Jr. Queen
Layne is the seventeen year-old daughter of CJ and Beckie Pearson.  She attends Newcastle High School where she is a member of the FFA chapter, earning the district level prepared public speaking award and the FFA Student of the Year award.  In her free time, she enjoys working with her horses, ranch work, roping and fishing.  She plans to major in Equine Science at Sheridan College then continue her education in Equine Dentistry in Texas.  Her definition of a rodeo queen is a "respectful young woman who is honest and supports her rodeo, her community and her country.  She sets positive examples for the upcoming generation."  When asked why she wants to be a rodeo queen Layne said, "I want to be a positive influence in my community and to younger generations.  Rodeo and horses arer two of my greatest passions.  I believe our western way of life is important and I would like to take part in preserving that way of life."
Grace Sandrini
MRWC Princess
Grace is the 11 year-old daughter of Joe and Shawnda Sandrini and the older sister of her brother, John.  Grace was homeschooled last year and enjoyed it so much that she has decided she will be homeschooled again this year.  She attends Newcastle Middle School to participate in band.  Grace is a member of the Elk Mountain Outlaws 4-H Club, where she serves as club reporter.  While attending Newcastle Middle School, she earned a spot on the Principal's "A" Honor Roll.  Grace has won a variety of awards at the Weston County Junior Rodeo, was 3rd high overall Junior in the Weston County Jr. Horse Show and 2nd high overall in her division at the Weston County Open Horse Show Series in 2010.  Grace has many hobbies including playing basketball, playing with her animals, riding her bike, and talking with friends  In the future, Grace plans to attend Black Hills State University to pursue a degree in Elementary Education, as well as ride and train horses.  Grace defines a rodeo queen as a girl that loves the sport of rodeo and also knows about rodeo.  They are girls that help people understand what is going on in the rodeo and about the different events.
Laney Carlin
MRWC Jr. Princess
Laney is 8 years-old and the youngest daughter of John and Amanda Carlin.  She has an older sister, Gracey, and older brother Garret.  Laney attends Newcastle Elementary School and is in the 3rd grade.  Laney loves to ride her horse, go skiing and lives to bug her siblings.  She also loves to write and illustrate stories.  Laney was the 2010 Weston County Jr. Rodeo Rookie of the Year.  She is also a member of the Newcastle Stingray swim team, is a 4-H Tumbleweed, and attends the Weston County Gymkhanas.  When Laney grows up she wants to be a veterinarian and a country singer.  Laney is always up for fun and adventure!
